After lighting Little Shop of Horrors & Little Women for IUST in 2019, Betsy returns once again to her alma mater. She was among the first to receive an M.F.A. in Lighting Design from I.U. in 1981. After tenure as Associate Professor of Design at Northern Illinois University, Betsy moved to Indianapolis in 1992 where she began her freelance lighting career. Last fall, she lit The Book Club, marking her 43rd production with the Indiana Repertory Theatre. Betsy and husband Alan were owners of Alan’s Catered Events for 26 years, officially retiring in 2020. Betsy has started a fresh ‘mission’ to rescue and upcycle vintage jewelry & other worthy objects. You might catch her at local arts & crafts fairs or visit her shop “ReVivable Goods” on Etsy. Betsy is a member of United Scenic Artists, Local 829, and still enthralled with the magic of light.
