Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance

Ashlynn Abbott is thrilled to return to the theatre department as a Guest Artist after graduating in 2019. She began her time as a student here stage managing an At First Sight play, Bruce Walsh’s Berkserker. She spent much of her time here working with IU Opera Theatre, where she worked on fifteen different operas, musicals, and ballets. Since graduating, she has served as a Senior Stage and Production Manager for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and as a Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager for opera companies all over the country, including Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Arizona Opera, Odyssey Opera, and Indiana University Opera Theatre. She would like to express her gratitude to the department for enthusiastically welcoming her back and to her wife, Jenn for her unwavering support.
