Maddy Allen is a dancer, performer, creator, and arts marketer. She is passionate about combining all of her passions to contribute to the arts world as a whole and leave behind a positive impact on society. Her love for the arts blossomed at a young age in her home state, Colorado, from painting with her grandfather, her love for movie musicals, and participation in local Kid Stage productions. While attending Classic Dance Academy and Denver School of the Arts as a dance major, she became committed to pursuing dance professionally as well as fell in love with choreography. Her artistic performances and choreographic work has been recognized in World Dance Review and the Denver Post. Maddy has continued to enhance her dance training by attending summer programs; Complexions Contemporary Ballet, the Orlando Ballet, and the Nutmeg Conservatory. She also had the opportunity to work and travel nationally as a touring assistant for Fluid Dance Convention, working with renowned dance artists like, Todd Flanagan and Mathew Shaffer. Maddy refined her dedication to the arts by pursuing an undergraduate education at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Currently she is a senior at IU studying contemporary Dance (B.F.A.) and Arts Marketing (B.A.), which she developed herself. During her undergraduate career, she trained under dance scholars; Elizabeth Shea, Beatrice Capote, Lalah Hazelwood, Iris Rosa, and Lauren Haughton-Gillis. She also performed in works by world renowned artists like Juel D. Lane and Erik Abbott Main of Boy Friday. Additionally, she was featured in University Players’s 2021 production of Footloose. For her choreographic work, Maddy recently served as the choreographer for Bloomington Playwrights Project's production of Modern, with director Jerry Dixon. While pursuing an arts education, Maddy worked a variety of internships in marketing, arts administration, and college admissions. Furthermore, she found a love for working with children and philanthropic work through her work with Indiana University Dance Marathon, supporting Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana.
