Alex is a freshman in the Musical Theatre B.F.A. program, and is beginning a double major in Film, Television, and Digital Studies this spring. He has worked previously with many programs within Metro-Atlanta on various musicals, including playing Marius in Les Miserables, Johnny Casino in Grease!, Michael Wormwood/Male Swing in Matilda, and Jean Shepherd in A Christmas Story: The Musical. He’s worked as a choreographer for Brighten Academy Charter School on many shows, including The Little Mermaid and Mary Poppins. He leads worship as a primary vocalist and keyboardist with the Journey at Douglasville First United Methodist Church. Alex is also a passionate writer and aspiring creator in the industry, having earned State-level placement for the Young Georgia Authors’ Writing Competition, and also enjoys songwriting when he can. He hopes to eventually attend a Masters Program (and potentially a Doctorate), with a long-term goal of becoming a professor of the arts–after and while making acting happen, of course! He would like to thank his mentors both within the IU faculty and beyond for their incredible wisdom and guidance, and his family for their continuing encouragement, support, and taste in music. He hopes you enjoy the show, and trusts that theatre does what it’s designed to do: invite, transform, entertain, and inspire. You are valued. You are welcome. You are loved. You are light. (Be sure to keep up with Alex on Instagram @ahacreates!)
