Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance

Adopted at a young age from Hunan, China Grace Beard learned to navigate a multitude of experiences and identities. They’ve danced since they were young and later transitioned into the dance program at Indiana University. This further expanded their studies including a range of styles and philosophies. They’ve had the privilege to work with several artists including Juel D. Lane, Stefanie Nelson, and Erik Abbott-Main. Their experience as a queer Asian-American informs their work and responsibility as an artist.
