Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance

Channing Dayton grew up in Charlotte, NC with a passion for dance from a very young age. After dancing competitively for many years, she made the decision to switch her focus to ballet and contemporary training for her Junior and Senior year of high school. She is a Freshman, B.F.A. Contemporary Dance major, and hopes to dance in a professional contemporary company after college, as well as create choreography. Channing wants to be a revolutionary force in the dance community, challenging constructs both physically and socially as she travels the world, experiencing many different countries and cultures, and dancing along the way.
