About Kylie Furlong

Kylie Furlong, hailing from Clarendon Hills, IL, a suburb of Chicago, has absolutely loved her first year with Indiana University Contemporary Dance. She trained at Exhibit 3 Dance Company, under the direction of Jenna Bartholme (Point Park University), Craig Black (Juilliard), and Tess Renaud (Western Michigan University), where she danced competitively, worked in workshop classes at several conventions, and taught, choreographed, and assisted for other dancers in the company. Growing up, she studied many forms of dance, including contemporary, jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, musical theater, tap, commercial, and street forms. Kylie has also worked with several guest artists such as Jackie Nowicki, Angel Mammoliti, Matt Luck, Chelsea Thedinga, James Washington, and Alexa Anderson. During her time so far at IU, Kylie has performed in IUCD’s 2022 junior show, Boundless, performing in Recordare (Lindsay Osten), Tethered (Caroline Moeller), and Wounds (Riley Savage). Kylie is also involved in IU’s Movement Cooperative, where she takes classes led by other students, and where she has taught her own hip hop choreography. Kylie is performing in SLIP led by University Players, where she will debut her own self choreographed solo Self Control, as well as performing in works by fellow majors Lila Hodgin and Abby Jones. Outside of IU, Kylie is a part of the ACE intern assistant program with Revive Dance Convention, Adrenaline Dance Convention, and National Dance Honors. She travels across the country with these companies to demonstrate and assist in workshops as well as help run competition. Kylie hopes to further her career in the dance convention world as well as work alongside professional companies in the next few summers, as well as teach at her home studio.
