Lila Goldstein (Ensemble/Understudy First Lady + Canary Mary/Music Director) is a Junior from Long Island, New York majoring in Vocal Performance and Musical Theatre with a minor in Composition at the Jacobs School of Music. Lila’s passion for classical music was nurtured through her time at the Manhattan School of Music's Precollege Voice Program and Interlochen's Summer Voice and Opera program. Her dedication led her to study in Vienna under Elena Copons as part of the IES Abroad Vienna Classical Voice Program during the summer of 2024. Additionally, Lila was a member of the Grammy-nominated Singing Hoosiers, contributing to the chamber ensemble, ResoluSHion. Beyond her classical training, Lila has a profound love for music direction and theatre. For IU Opera/Theatre: Pop-Up Opera (Mallika/Chorus), Urinetown (Little Becky Two-Shoes), Falsettos (Charlotte), Be More Chill (Chloe). Other: Assassins (Squeaky Fromme), Gypsy (Mama Rose), Mamma Mia (Donna), Spring Awakening (Martha), Heathers (Young Republicanette/Swing). She has served and continues to serve as the Music Director of Hooshir A Cappella, Indiana University’s premier Jewish A Cappella group. Lila's favorite performances include singing at the ALL IN Festival in Indianapolis with the Beatles Dreamset and performing opera scenes with the DeYoung Voice studio.
