Olivia Newcomb is excited and honored to be portraying Mrs. Wade alongside an incredibly talented cast in her first ever Indiana University musical. A sophomore hailing from Hood River Oregon, Olivia currently studies vocal performance at the Jacobs School of Music with an outside field in musical theatre. Her most notable roles to date are Katharina Minola in Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, Rizzo in Grease by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, Madame Josephine in The Madwoman of Chaillot by Jean Giraudoux, the Stepmother in Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods, and Leila’s Mother in the world premier of Does My Head Look Big in This? By Elizabeth Wong. Olivia has also been fortunate to sing in opera festivals in Italy and Vienna and this summer will be attending the Berlin Opera Academy and performing in the Crucible by Robert Ward. Olivia looks forward to continuing her passion for both classical and contemporary repertoire and fostering connections between the styles on stage.
