About Katie Parker

Katie Parker is a senior majoring in Media with a concentration in Film, TV, and Digital Production and a minor in Theatre and Drama. For IU theatre she was an ensemble member for Family Bladders: A Sketch Comedy Review, written and directed by David Davila. She is a member of Boy in the Bubble Sketch Comedy at IU and in addition, performs standup comedy here in Bloomington. She has performed standup at the Bloomington Comedy Festival, and at the Hoppy Wobbles mainstage shows. Before the rapidly impending apocalypse, she hopes to write and produce her own original comedy TV show. She is currently working on a pilot episode for a new show to pitch called 12 Steps Back, a dark comedy about overcoming addiction. Katie enjoys language learning, and is currently learning French, Spanish, and Italian. She also volunteers as a tutor, teaching English as a second language to adults preparing for citizenship tests, driver's license tests, and the hiSET. Having grown up in three different countries, Katie is passionate about global issues and hopes to pursue her master's in International Affairs next year.
