About Rachel Nicole Pierce

Rachel is a third-year M.F.A. Directing candidate. Rachel holds an M.A. in Theatre from San Diego State University, where she went onto lecture. She has trained at Second City West Hollywood, Steppenwolf West, and British American Drama Academy. She has performed original work in Morocco in Broad Canvas and self-produced Attached and Oak & Linden in the San Diego International Fringe Festival. Rachel collaborated with Pittsburgh’s Bricolage Productions site-specific performance of OJO in the La Jolla Playhouse's Without Walls Festival. Before leaving California, Rachel directed a touring Shakespeare adaptation, Kiss by the Book, for the San Diego Central Library First Folio Exhibit. Rachel has been a teaching artist for La Jolla Playhouse, San Diego Playwrights Project, Art for Learning SD, Childsplay Tempe, and Scottsdale Arts. IU directing credits include: Vinegar Tom, Fat Pig, new plays Butter Knife and The Ladies Room. AD: Three Sisters and Julius Caesar. Rachel has most recently assisted at Indiana Repertory Theatre with Elephants + Piggies - We are in a Play (TYA) and directed Kurt Vonnegut readings at Cardinal. Rachel is from San Diego, CA.
