Emma Waterman is a Senior at Indiana University working towards a B.F.A. in Contemporary Dance and a B.A. in Psychology. During her time in college, she has performed in works by Camille A. Brown, Elizabeth Shea, Evelyn Wang, Katie Phelan-Mayfield, Beatrice Capote, Christian Classens, Justin Sears-Watson, Picabo Saunders, Abby Gerdes, and Komoco Dance. These were Emma has performed work in the DUMBO Festival, Indy Fringe, Trifecta Dance Festival, Chicago DanceMakers Forum; as well as, Earthward, Cultural Immersion, and Reconstructed/Reframed.
In addition to her training in school, she attended the Dance Italia Advanced Training Program where she worked with multiple artists from all over the world. Before her time in college, she trained at both Dancer’s Edge and Indiana Ballet Conservatory. Emma Waterman has also choreographed for her Junior Choreographic Project (2023).
Along with these, she has performed in numerous student works by Frances Hietzelman, Grace Calderoni, Olivia Sarvello, Cody Watson, Rae Wilcoxson, Picabo Saunders, Lindsay Osten, Abby Gerdes, Zoey Dickenson, Katelyn Connor, Lydia Layden, Aerin Webber, Riley Savage, and Josie Fox. Emma has also taught modern and contemporary dance styles to various ages and skill levels. She utilizes her knowledge of psychology to create a safe learning environment for her students, peers, and herself.
