About Samantha Winter

Samantha Winter is a professionally trained ballet dancer that now focuses on contemporary dance, choreography, and instructing. She grew up in Rochester, New York where she trained at the Draper Center for Dance Education. There she was taught ballet, pointe, modern, and jazz styles. Not only has she attended dance conventions and competitions, she has also been in multiple productions with the Rochester City Ballet, including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and The Nutcracker (in which she was casted yearly since 2008). As a student at the Draper Center, she had the opportunity to become an assistant instructor in ballet, jazz, and modern. Samantha had the privilege of attending the Washington Ballet Summer Intensive Program to expand her knowledge and creativity within dance. Samantha’s dance training and experiences fueled her love for choreographing and instructing. With these desires in mind, it led her to Indiana University to major in Contemporary Dance, allowing her to explore various subunits of dance, while also completing a minor in Kinesiology. Looking forward, her approach is to produce a universal understanding and impact on how the body, through dance, invites people of all backgrounds to admire a shared experience.
