Lucy's academic background is in Anthropology, youth environmental engagement, and rural development in the Brazilian Amazon. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, she earned her B.A. in Anthropology from Middle Tennessee State University. She moved to Bloomington in 2010 to earn her Ph.D. in Anthropology. Lucy has studied abroad and conducted long-term research in Brazil and found that studying overseas can be a tremendous opportunity for personal growth. She has also worked as a professionalization mentor and was formerly an academic advisor before transitioning to her current position as financial administrative specialist.
