Laura is the Project Manager for the Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance. Laura received her B.A. in theater and English from Denison University and established herself as a freelance stage manager and production manager, primarily working in opera. Her experience spans from stage managing Seattle fringe, dance concerts, and children’s theater to working for nationally recognized opera companies such as Wolf Trap Opera, Seattle Opera, Florentine Opera, and Opera Omaha. In addition, Laura’s summer-stock experience includes five seasons with Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre, where she ended her tenure as the Production Manager for the company’s six-show season. Before joining IU Theatre & Dance Laura was the Production Stage Manager for the Oregon Cabaret Theatre in Ashland, where she was instrumental in implementing new standards of safety and policy and procedure for the year-round cabaret dinner theater company.
As Project Manager for IU Theatre & Dance, Laura is responsible for a wide array of department-related content and events from campus department involvement to recruitment marketing materials, summer season publicity, website content management, and academic season posters, programs, and graphics. Laura is also the department Donor and Alumni liaison, also frequently engaging with the greater IU community on stewardship and outreach initiatives.
