Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance

Elsalene (Elsa) Akkerman is a sophomore at IU pursuing a degree in Contemporary Dance with a double major in sociology. Previous to Earthward, Elsa has been seen in last year's Junior Choreography Showcase. Before coming to IU, Elsa took an offer from the Joffrey Ballet School and was a Trainee with the in both Ballet, as well as Jazz/Contemporary for three years. She has been seen dancing on stages all around the country and in Germany, Austria, and Canada.
