Ellis Greer is a third-year student in the M.F.A. Costume Technology program. Draping at IU: Titus Andronicus, Barbecue, City of Angels. Firsthand work at IU: The Heiress, Peter and the Starcatcher. Her thesis project is an exploration of alternative processes to imitate the effect of sixteenth-century English blackwork embroidery for period stage costumes. Ellis has worked at regional theatre and opera companies across the country: Utah Shakespeare Festival, Washington National Opera, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Santa Fe Opera, Glimmerglass Opera. A lifelong lover of theatre, art, and storytelling, she began her professional costume career ten years ago at the Clarence Brown Theatre in her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee. Ellis holds a Bachelor of Arts in costume design from University of Tennessee.
