About Frances Rose Heintzelman

Frances is a Senior studying Contemporary Dance and Political Science at Indiana University. She is interested in improvisational processes and exploring the ways in which chance operations and movement can interact in space.

At IU, she has performed in works by Stafford Berry Jr., Dr. Prathiba Natesan Batley, Selene Carter, and Liz Shea. Professionally, she performed in My Third Eye is Killing Me by Middle Space Dance at Treiber Farms, New York.

Frances has a specific interest in Choreography, and her works have been featured in the IU Productions From the Ground Up, and SLIP. In Fall 2022, Frances produced, directed and choreographed her own site-specific show, Movement at the Mies.

Outside of IU, Frances has trained at the Professional Training Program at the Bates Dance Festival, as well as the David Dorfman Dance Company at Connecticut College. She has trained in composition, improvisation, and post-modern technique.
