Olivia Johnson is a third-year M.F.A. Acting candidate and playwright from Pensacola, Florida. She earned her B.A. in Theatre Performance at Dillard University. In undergrad, she performed in numerous productions, gained technical theatre experience, and produced her original play ROUGAROU. At Indiana University, Olivia has significantly advanced as both an actor and person. Her acting credits include: Yellowman (Alma), Pipeline(Nya), Joe Turner’s Come and Gone (Martha), Twelfth Night (Maria), and F**king A (First Lady).
Olivia is passionate about storytelling that amplifies underrepresented voices and explores the depth of human experience. After completing her M.F.A., Olivia will continue to write plays for Black and Brown actors, teach theatre at the collegiate level, and perform across the country. She also aspires to pursue her passion for African American hairstyling, advocating for greater visibility and support for Black actors in television. Through her artistry, Olivia is committed to inspiring, engaging, and uplifting audiences.
