Megan Kudla is a senior Contemporary Dance B.F.A., English B.A., and Spanish B.A., and her passion is connecting with, teaching and inspiring others through the arts and humanities. Megan is from Arlington Heights, Illinois, and prior to IU, she trained at McDonald Dance Academy. During her time at IU she has performed in Stefanie Batten Bland’s Germe and Twyla Tharp’s Deuce Coupe in 2018, Stefanie Nelson's A, MY NAME IS... in collaboration with Stefanie Nelson Dancegroup in 2019, as well as Stephanie Pizzo's Someone's Keeper in 2020.
Along with participation and choreography within student-run dance organizations and productions such as University Players and InMotion Dance Company, she has served as Secretary and Co-Social Media chair of Movement Exchange at IU and currently serves as President of The Movement Cooperative. In May 2018, she participated in Dance Volunteering in Costa Rica with Performing Arts Abroad, which included work as an assistant instructor at Danzay Ballet Studio in San José.
Megan received the Palmer-Brandon Scholarship in the Humanities from the IU College of Arts and Sciences in 2019 and the NSAL Contemporary Dance Marina Svetlova Memorial Award and scholarship in 2018, 2019, and 2020. She is a member of the Hutton Honors College, the Executive Dean's List, and La Sociedad Nacional Honoraria Universitaria de Español de Indiana University Bloomington. She is an administrative intern on the IU Arts & Humanities Council, a student representative on the IU College Committee for Undergraduate Education (CUE), and works with the IU English Undergraduate Advisory Team. She continues to take on choreography, dance, and arts administration projects.
