Claire Liechty is a senior pursuing a Contemporary Dance B.F.A. and a minor in Adaptive Exercise. During her time at IU, Claire has performed and choreographed in various IUCDT performances, including the Junior Choreographic Showcase in 2016, 2017 and 2018, New Moves in 2017 and 2018. She has performed in various faculty pieces as well as guest artist pieces including Suddenly We Were All Alone by Noa Shadur as well as Germe by Stephanie Batten Bland. In addition to performing with the department, Claire is on the board of Directors for University Players as Director of Choreography and Movement, she also serves on the board of Movement Cooperative. In these roles, she has directed, choreographed and performed in UP's Slip, and has choreographed for UP's production of American Idiot and Next To Normal. Claire currently plans to continue dancing and choreographing while getting involved in broadening the dance world towards adaptive bodies and movement styles.
