Maddy McCarthy is currently a senior at Indiana University pursuing a B.F.A. in Contemporary Dance with a minor in Exercise Science. While studying at Indiana University she's practiced modern dance techniques such as Graham, Limón, and Horton, as well as more contemporary somatic and release technique practices. She has served as director, choreographer, and treasurer for an IU dance club as well as organized, participated in, and choreographed for student-run showcases. In IU productions she's been featured in dances by Elizabeth Shea and Stephanie Batton-Bland, and played the role of Twyla Tharp in the first re-staging of Deuce Coupe. To supplement her dance practice, she earned certifications to lead yoga and barre classes and worked as an instructor at a yoga studio. After graduating from IU she plans to move to Los Angeles and work professionally and/or pursue a masters degree in contemporary dance.
