About Skylar Thomas

Skylar Thomas, currently training at Indiana University, is a 22 year old emerging artist. Skylar has been professionally trained since she was the age of 6. She has continued her studies with Indiana University’s Contemporary Dance program from 2018-2022, where she has worked extensively in broadening her studies in many different styles of dance including Ballet, Contemporary, Horton, Graham, African Diaspora, Afro Cuban, Aerial silks, and many others. Here she has performed in many different shows including the annual Faculty show as well as student led shows. Skylar has trained in several different facilities including Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre where she was a part of the pre professional program in the years 2013-2018. She was also an intern with the professional company at GHDT in the years 2017-2018. In 2018 she became the recipient of the Florence Marie Hancock Scholarship. In 2018 she made her debut performance in Gregory Hancocks Superhero as The Cross. Skylar's goal is to travel abroad to New Zealand where she will dance with a company as well as teach dance, yoga and pilates.
