Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance

Katie Wheeler is in her final year at IU majoring in Musical Theatre. She spent her freshman year studying Jazz Voice at Jacobs, and will complete her B.F.A. in three years total. Her credits for IU Theatre include Carrie: The Musical (Swing, u/s Miss Gardner), The Well of Horniness (Inmate/Waitress/Waiter/others), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Rona/Olive’s Mom) and Rabbit Hole (Izzy).

Katie has performed at events such as the Monterey Jazz Festival and San Jose Jazz Festival. She is also songwriter as well as a performer and has released original music on streaming platforms. She started a band with a few of her peers this past year and spends her time jamming either at home or around Bloomington. Katie is from Salinas, California.
