The M.A. in Theatre and Drama offers an opportunity to build a strong foundation of study in the field. In addition to coursework, independent reading, and work on a master’s thesis or project, graduate students participate in various production activities of the department.
While master’s candidates are expected to gain familiarity with all areas of study in theatre and drama, you may be allowed to concentrate their study largely in one area, in accordance with your aims and prior training.
The thesis subject or project you select is likely to determine your area of concentration. To succeed, you must acquire mastery in that area sufficient to allow independent thinking and to demonstrate the results in a thesis.
