Chris Mueller has won the USITT Midwest Digital Design Competition with his scenic design of The Goat. Along with free conference registration, Chris will be recognized at the 2019 USITT Conference Midwest Section meeting.
Chris is a second year M.F.A. scenic design candidate. He worked this summer as the Props Master for Indiana University Summer Theatre for Our Town, The Foreigner, and 25th Annual…. Last year Chris had the opportunity to be the Scenic Designer for Nice Nails as well as Props Master for Three Sisters, and Charge Artist for The Resistible Rise…. Previously, Chris spent five years at Flat Rock Playhouse where he was the Associate Scene Designer and Intern Director. While there, he had the opportunity to design numerous shows as well as assist on over 50 more. Some of his favorites include The Last Five Years, James and the Giant Peach, Over the River and Through the Woods, and Crimes of the Heart. Chris is originally from Portland, Oregon and he graduated from the University of Idaho with his BFA in Scene Design and Technical Direction in 2011. Chris has also had the privilege to work across the nation at theatres including Idaho Repertory Theatre, Theatre West, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and more.
