This scholarship may be awarded annually to a sophomore or junior majoring in the department who has made a substantial contribution to the program and who in some way exemplifies the character and spirit of William B. Kinzer, a faculty member from 1951 to 1984.
The awards committee seeks recommendations from faculty and considers participation in various departmental activities and programs as the primary qualification. While academic performance and need may be considered, they are not the controlling criteria for the scholarship.
