About Bobby Ayala Perez

Bobby is a graduate candidate in Acting and an Associate Instructor of Acting at Indiana University. He has worked as an actor, and scenic and prop designer in Cleveland and Los Angeles. He received a B.A. in Acting from Cleveland State University. While at CSU, he devised a one-act play (La Grippe) for his capstone project, which was inspired by his research and work on Alfred Jarry's Ubu Roi, and the Theatre of the Absurd and Surrealism. He is currently working to expand La Grippe into a full-length play. He enjoys new works that experiment with elements of surrealism, absurdism, and magical realism. Prior to entering the program at IU, Bobby lived in Los Angeles where he concentrated on filmmaking, both in front of and behind the camera. He continues to edit, direct, and write for film. He also enjoys illustration, writing, and carpentry.
